Dark Iron

Dark Iron is a tabletop roleplaying game system focused on narrative, character integrity, and bloody combat. While it is structured around a basic middle ages aesthetic, the lightweight system can be used to add grit and narrative to any setting or realm. The simple mechanics of the game are presented in a beautifully formatted 14 page manual.

In Dark Iron, all players are encouraged to invent and present narrative. Working within a context given by the game master, players controlling characters can deliver portions of general story, creating nonessential characters, detailing environments, and moving the story forward along the mission path all of their own volition. This unique storytelling format in addition to a focus on grounded combat and a realistic world sets Dark Iron apart from many other tabletop RPGs. 

"Warbands" is a nonlinear game module providing a lightly developed setting and various story and game elements for a sandbox adventure in the world of Dark Iron.

"Enemy Cards" are a streamlined resource for GMs crafting opponent fighters.
